This website was launched to promote the scenic Settle-Carlisle railway.
Running through some of the most attractive scenery in the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbrian Fells, the Settle-Carlisle railway is world famous for its Victorian architecture, huge stone viaducts, long tunnels and remote wayside station buildings.
The site was developed by The Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company and
The Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line. It also represents the Settle & Carlisle Railway Trust.
Together, the three organisations form the Settle-Carlisle Partnership.
Our shared ambition for this site is to convert on-line virtual visitors into real on-the-line visitors, who come to explore the Settle-Carlisle railway for themselves.
