Northern Rail, operator of passenger services over the Settle-Carlisle Line, launched its Settle-Carlisle liveried train on May 2nd 2007.
Developed in partnership by Northern Rail, the Friends of the Settle-Carlisle Line and the Settle-Carlisle Railway Development Company, the train is the first in the UK to feature illustrated route maps at each table - serving as a useful guide to the line for visitors, and when the train is not used on the line, to attract new visitors onto the line.
