Ales on the Rails

Just a few years ago, real ale buffs would have recoiled in horror at the idea of drinking their beer from a can.  Recently though, that’s been turned upside down. Cans these days have a micro-thin water-based lining which keeps the contents away from the metal and in perfect condition. Importantly, cans don’t allow in any light that can spoil the beer, as bottles do.  Add to that the benefits that they chill more quickly, weigh less, don’t smash… well it’s clear to see that cans are where it’s at!

Our well-loved trolley service is much admired and one of the principle reasons for that is our commitment to working with local suppliers.  Our lovely bakes all come from Mallerstang and we’ve been working with the Eden Brewery near Penrith for several years now to supply our own specially branded ales.  And we’re bang up to date, launching our new canned craft beers which taste fantastic and look fab too!  We have a light, hoppy blonde or a continental-style lager for you to choose from.  Whichever you prefer, you can enjoy service at your seat from our friendly on-train staff, then sit back and soak up some of England’s finest scenery along with your drink.

Cheers! 🙂
