The train company, Northern, are offering a special day return fare for holders of valid Dales Railcards until Saturday, 1 April 2017 but the following dates are excluded from the offer:
Saturday, 18 February to Saturday, 25 February 2017 inclusive
The offer is available on all trains with the exception of the Monday to Friday 0630 Appleby to Leeds service.
The special price has been held at the 2015/16 rate. £9.00 for travel on the Settle-Carlisle line (including Brampton and Wetheral on the Tyne Valley line) and £7.00 for travel on the Bentham line. Northern have responded to feedback about the offer last year and the offer price from Settle to Leeds will mirror the fare from Giggleswick, ie £7.00.
The flat fare day return ticket will be available to Dales Railcard holders for travel on the specific line to which the fare relates. So if you fancy a day out in Skipton, Leeds or Bradford why not take advantage of this great deal.
Up to four children can accompany a Dales Railcard holder and the cost for each child is 50% of the adult fare (ie £4.50 on the Settle-Carlisle line and £3.50 on the Bentham line).
No further discounts are permitted with the offer; it cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotion.
The offer tickets can be purchased at a manned station or from the conductor on the train when travelling from an unmanned station or when the booking office is closed. The tickets cannot be purchased on the internet.
The cost of the Dales Railcard has been cut by 50% too. So this is even better value for money. Use this link if you wish to renew/purchase a Dales Railcard online.
