Self-Guided Walks from the Settle-Carlisle Line

The Settle-Carlisle Railway passes through some of the north of England’s most dramatic and beautiful scenery.  One of the best ways to appreciate it is to leave the train and explore the landscape on foot.

The walks for download here* are based in the Ingleborough area of Yorkshire’s Three Peaks.  They are linear walks, specially designed to make the most of the rail and bus connections, which allow you to access the Dales with no need for a car.

In addition to the downloadable PDF’s available here, there is a wealth of ideas available on the website: www.walkingintheyorkshiredales.co.uk.  Many of the routes there are linear walks, accessible by public transport.

More walks in other areas coming here soon.
